A nomadic rhythmic chorus of ten captivating singer-dancers embarks on a collective journey of seeking and finding home in “Refuge.” The film asks: as our lives are mutated by different seasons, landscapes, and cityscapes, what persists? How do embodied memories get recycled, and how can the archives of our bodies become a refuge to root ourselves during a migratory experience? United by crisply precise rhythms, harmonizing songs, and intricate dances, each member of the group shares their individual experiences and practices to contribute to a joyous convergence.
“Refuge” received SFDFF’s 2024 Best Screendance Over 10 Min award.
