SFDFF On The Road
SFDFF On The Road is San Francisco Dance Film Festival’s Touring Program. As part of our ongoing outreach efforts to bring dance to a wider audience, DANCE FILM SF is offering the rental of one of our annual highlight reels of curated shorts from previous years’ festival programming. These rentals are available as streaming, limited-use content and are intended for educational use by schools, libraries and nonprofit cultural institutions or for small or new film festivals (worldwide) that do not currently have the resources to curate their own programming. By special request, we may offer multiple viewings for approved educational institutions that will assign controlled viewings of a package as part of their syllabus coursework. These touring packages are NOT FOR COMMERCIAL SALE.
The license fee includes permission to screen a touring reel of choice, PLUS a print-ready PDF program for self-printing and distributing to your students/patrons. We’ll also include promotional film stills.
To request permission for the rental of one of our Touring Packages, please send an email to linda@dancefilmsf.org
PROGRAM 1 : Audience Favorites | 2023
Audience Favorites (AF23)
Take a tour of diverse dance styles as smoldering jazz, flamboyant drag, athletic street dance, and world-class ballet come into conversation across the globe. From the intimacy of dance studios to the bustling streets of Lagos, Mexico City, and San Francisco’s own soaring hilltops, dancers find poetic expression in the universal language of the body in motion.
PROGRAM 2 : Screenscapes | 2023
Screenscapes (SS23)
Dive deeper into screendance with these eight international dance works for camera that expertly craft multidimensional artistic works to tell urgent stories. Themes of migration and displacement, ritual and transformative self-discovery together emphasize the triumphant power of the individual spirit and the need for community.
