Part documentary, part poetic essay, “Caravane” is a film about young immigrants going through language integration in school in a working-class Montreal neighborhood. Children of various ages and backgrounds communicate their stories and emotions through their individual voices, insightful dialogues, and collective creative expression as they process the challenges of migration and look with hope to their futures. Words, music, dance, and play merge in a series of portraits that dissolve differences to foreground the human element common to all of us.
“Caravane” received SFDFF’s 2024 Best Documentary Short Film award.
