Ballet Master Class with Tiit Helimets

This ballet masterclass is for advanced ballet students of any age. It is designed to be particularly beneficial to competition-focused dancers. The class will demand a high-level of technical proficiency in classical ballet and will focus on blending technical skill and artistic expression. Class will be one hour and 45 minutes with a Q&A with Tiit following the class.

This class is affiliated with SFDFF’s screening of the documentary Closer Than Yesterday, co-presented by San Francisco Ballet on October 4, 2024.

Born in Estonia, Tiit Helimets danced with the Estonian National Ballet and Birmingham Royal Ballet before joining San Francisco Ballet as a principal dancer in 2005. He appeared in hundreds of performances during the 18 years he danced at San Francisco Ballet. In Closer Than Yesterday, he serves as a coach, expertly guiding two young SFB dancers through their journey to the Helsinki International Ballet Competition.
